Over $1 Million Raised!

by beerandbake

The efforts of bake sales around the country have helped Domino Sugar and Share our Strength raise over $1 Million! The Great American Bake Sale is a program that provides an outlet for people across the nation to help bring food and nutrition programs to kids in need.

The program is still hoping to reach its goal of $1.3 Million. Though, the bake sales have come to an end for now, you can still help by making a monetary donation at the Great American Bake sale website (greatamericanbakesale.org).

Thanks!

by beerandbake

We just wanted to send out a big thank you to everyone who came out to support the bake sale and Share Our Strength this weekend! We are still adding up the final numbers on how much we made, but at this point we can confidently say the event was a success!

Please let us know what you thought of the event, and if there were things you liked or ways we can make it better in the future. Also, if you have any great pictures, please send them our way and we’ll post them on the site.

A special thanks to Paulie and Jessie at Adams Mill Bar and Grill for being such great hosts to us. We really appreciate your help and excitement for the event. Also, thanks again to everyone else for your help! We could not have done this without you.

All Aboard!

by beerandbake

Signed, sealed…and waiting to be delivered!

Our mix of muffins, rugglach, brownies and more are packed up and waiting for someone to take them to a good home, or an empty stomach. We’re making the last few preparations needed to get our bake sale underway!

Don’t forget, our efforts are part of the larger Great American Bake Sale being put on by Share Our Strength, in an effort to fight child hunger. Come out tomorrow to Adams Morgan Bar and Grill to show your support, give into your sweet tooth, have a beer and a good time.

Just a disclaimer: if you plan to drive, please drink responsibly and make sure to have a designated driver if necessary.

Hope to see you there!

Chew on this.

by beerandbake

The lovely recipe making and delicious dish producing Emily, from Corcoran Street Kitchen, has graced our upcoming bake sale with another great creation. You will be able to grab one or more of the individually wrapped, chewiest oatmeal butterscotch cookies for yourself!

Come out on Saturday to try one from the master herself. Then, if you just can’t get enough of them, try out your baking skills with the recipe straight from her blog. Thanks, Emily for all of your support.
